Only those persons named on the rental agreement are permitted to drive any of the vehicles supplied under this agreement. The Hirer must not obtain the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation.

The hire will terminate when the vehicle and keys are returned to Devine Rentals staff at the agreed location.

Any unauthorised late returns greater than 1 hour will be charged the daily rate.

If the Hirer cancels, voids the agreement, or returns the vehicle earlier than and the agreement, no refund applies. Changes to return time and location must be confirmed by Devine Rentals. Additional fees may apply.

 Hirer’s obligations and restrictions

he vehicle must be driven, operated, and parked within all laws, by-laws and regulations that apply to this class of motor vehicle in New Zealand. This includes speed limitations. Violating these laws may result in Devine Rentals repossessing the vehicle without refund to the Hirer.

Any fines incurred while the vehicle is in your care will be charged to your nominated credit card with a $50 admin fee.

The following roads are excluded from travel with Devine Rentals vehicles: Skippers Canyon to Macetown, Tasman Valley Road (also known as Old ball Road) Glenorchy- Paradise Road.

Milford Sound is travelled at your own risk. A call out fee to this area is not covered by your insurance excess.

 It is your obligation to maintain fuel, coolant, oil levels, and tyre pressures within NZ safe levels. This includes but is not limited to returning the vehicle with the same level and type of fuel provided and specified.  The refill fee is $50

Our petrol cars only operate with 95 petrol or higher. Using any other type of fuel will result in charges of extracting said fuel and replacing with the correct type. We advise you keep receipts. Fuel and refill fee is not covered by your insurance excess.

If any warning light in the vehicle is activated, you must stop the vehicle at the first safe opportunity and call our contact number. The only exception to this is if the warning light relates to a light bulb or fog lamp being non-operational, in which case you may continue as normal.

. If damage occurs whilst the vehicle is in the care of the Hirer, this damage must be pointed out to staff on return of the car.

 Devine Rentals reserves the right to charge the Hirer’s total excess amount if the damage impacts following rentals.

If the interior of the car is left in a soiled or excessively dirty state, has sand, animal hair, or smells of cigarette smoke, a cleaning fee will be applied to your nominated credit card or taken from your bond.

Vehicle repairs

If the vehicle breaks down or needs repair, please contact us at the first safe opportunity.

Where applicable and possible, a replacement car will be provided.

. If the vehicle requires repair and is found to be the result of abuse, misuse or user error – including but not limited to ‘burnouts’, off rood use, racetrack use, handbrake turns ‘drifting’ or aggressive driving, you will be charged for the repairs and any applicable costs. Any additional hire will be immediately terminated.

Insurance

 Insurance cover is provided by Devine Rentals. Your insurance excess will be ‘Pre-Authorised’ or ‘frozen’ on the credit card provided.

This credit card must be in the hirer’s name.

You may make your own insurance arrangements however your excess will always be Pre-Authorised on the credit card provided and it is your responsibility to provide documentation to your own insurer when making a claim.

Hirer’s liability for use of vehicle

You must not use or allow the vehicle to be used for the transport of passengers for hire or reward unless expressly agreed with Devine Rentals.

Illegal activity involving a Devine Rentals vehicle will not be covered by your insurance excess and you will be liable for all costs involved in returning the vehicle to Devine Rentals in the same condition, including lost rental days.
